Well, the holidays are over. Thanks to all those who participated in our holiday activities- I hope everyone had a lot of fun, and are enjoying their pictures! I for one learned a lot, and I've loved putting that knowledge into practice.
For the next little while, we are turning our focus inward and looking at how we can make IIA the best it can possibly be. New courses are in the works, old favourites are getting revamped and given a good polish- there's lots of research, planning and typing in our futures. What this means is less fun stuff to chat to everyone about right now (unless you all want to hear about compiling bibliographies, reading texts and epic note taking?), but more fun stuff in the long term.
2010 is shaping up to be a big year for IIA- there is some amazing, huge, awesome stuff just over the horizon that I can't wait to spill the beans on. Until then, it's study time.

PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Two courses are on offer during the September school holidays. In the first week there is a three day workshop for Primary school aged children to learn the basics of Digital Photography over three days and three hours per day.
They will learn how to take care of their camera through basic maintenance, through practical exercises both on the course and at home they will learn about the importance of light in photos, how to compose photos they can be proud of, how to look for patterns, designs and shapes, textuyres and colours and, a few photographic tricks when taking family, landscape and artistic shots.
So why not see if you have a potential professional photographer itching to get a start in life.

The second workshop is for high school students who will be taken through a very similar course but aimed at their comprehension levels. The objective is to take them from simple snapshots to photographs they can display or exhibit if good enough.
